Required Materials

REQUIRED MATERIALS

Final Materials list

1. FINISHED DRAWING – size 11×14”

Or other reference material, such as a photograph or digital montage.

This will be the basis for one of your paintings and will be transferred to

your panel (we also provide reference material options).

The reference should not be too complex, but should be a well-rendered

study of a 3-dimensional form (as opposed to a 2-D line drawing) with a

good range of values and mid-tones from light to dark. It can be as simple

as a sphere, cube, or a grouping of objects from a still-life. More advanced

students may choose to do a portrait or figure study, etc. It’s preferable to

work with something simple rather than having a lot of detail, as this is

ultimately a study painting. Completion of the paintings will depend fully

upon each individual’s focus and time investment in and outside the studio.

2. TWO PANELS -We are supplying 2 x Ampersand gessoboards
